How are you practicing pediatric developmental care this week?

I want a focused way to practice pediatric developmental care without adding another resource. My plan is to identify what is realistic and safe for the child’s developmental stage. I will review whether I used age expectations, communication, family involvement, and weight-based safety and note whenever I was approaching the child as a smaller adult. What would you add or simplify?

The most useful starting point is age expectations, communication, family involvement, and weight-based safety. If that is not clear, slow down before comparing the answer choices.

I would keep the practice narrow: identify what is realistic and safe for the child’s developmental stage. That gives you something observable to review after the set.

A common trap is approaching the child as a smaller adult. Naming that pattern before practice can make it easier to catch in the moment.

Try explaining the decision out loud in one sentence. The explanation should connect directly to age expectations, communication, family involvement, and weight-based safety.

I would bring this to RN review with one example where the framework worked and one where it still felt ambiguous.
